Overall Plan of Shanghai Eastern Hub International Business Cooperation Zone

The plan for the Shanghai Eastern Hub International Cooperation Zone was launched on Feb 28. The construction of the pilot area will be completed in 2025. The entire zone will begin operations under closed management in 2028 and be fully established by 2030.

Location:

The planning area of the Shanghai Eastern Hub International Business Cooperation Zone is an 880,000-square-meter area, which is divided into two blocks with the G1503 expressway as the boundary. The two blocks are connected by an enclosed passageway.

Block 1: The east side area is the pilot area, which is east of Shuofang Road and the west side of Hutong Railway Phase II, south of Meilan Road, west of the G1503 expressway, and north of Wenju Road and Huanglong Road.

Block 2: The west side area is east of the G1503 expressway, south of Zhuqin Road, west of Jinwen Road, and north of Wenju Road.

Objectives:

The zone will serve as a new platform to facilitate international business exchanges by relying on the advantages of the Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Shanghai East Railway Station.

The zone will be a new carrier for the convergence of service resources aiming to improve Shanghai's functions of global factor allocation, and an open hub and gateway.

The zone will promote the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta by providing a platform for international business exchanges of all kinds.

International Business Exchanges

-- Provide convenience for business meetings and negotiations by satisfying the needs of short-term international business activities, encouraging cross-border business and enhancing the accessibility of the international air passenger transport network

-- Serve high-end international exhibition activities by organizing exhibitions of internationally renowned brands and allow foreign organizations to independently organize foreign-related economic and technological exhibitions after approval

-- Upgrade the quality of training services by encouraging international training, improve professional training

-- Improve ancillary services and facilities by constructing high-standard supporting facilities, optimize the foreign exchange payment environment, expand the scope of acceptance of overseas bank cards, and improve the payment service experience
