Shanghai Cup Chess Masters
The Shanghai Cup Chess Masters has been held three times – 2021, 2022, and 2023.
The inaugural chess masters established an international division that attracted players from 19 countries and regions across Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania.
In the second edition, the number of overseas participants continued to increase with almost 500 players from 23 countries and regions spanning Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania taking part in the qualifiers. Approximately 80 players were ultimately selected for the main tournament.
For the third edition, nearly 20 WCF member organizations from Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania participated in the Overseas Division.
The 4th Shanghai Cup Chess Masters will be held from Sept 19 to 22 and will feature professional, overseas, celebrity invitational, youth, and amateur divisions. This year, the tournament aims to intensify its publicity and will utilize a combination of invitations and registration.
Chess enthusiasts from around the world will have the opportunity to engage in online exchange matches and foster multicultural communication.
