Shanghai Global Champions Tour
The Shanghai Global Champions Tour is one of the world's most prestigious 5-star equestrian events, held six times from 2014 to 2019.
As a year-round stop on the Longines Global Champions Tour, the inaugural event in 2014 held at the south side of the China Art Museum (Shanghai) overcame the challenges of inspection and quarantine, as well as the air and land transportation of the sport horses.
Over 26,000 spectators attended the three-day event and nearly 10 million domestic viewers watched the event on television. It stands as a prime example of top European and American sport horses coming to China to compete.
Today, the event sees the participation of the world's leading equestrians, along with nearly 100 of the world's best sport horses who have previously competed in Europe and the Americas.
Simultaneously, the spectators' elegant attire and the concurrent China International Professional Horse Sports and Leisure Industries Exhibition garner significant media attention.
Event founder Jan Tops has described the Shanghai competition as the most sophisticated and elegant flagship event of the year.
The 2024 Shanghai Global Champions Tour is scheduled to open on May 3-5 at the Shanghai Juss International Equestrian Center.
