Pujiang Country Park to host Chinese-style garden art exhibition
The Miracle Garden of Pujiang Country Park in Shanghai is set to present a Chinese-style garden art exhibition from March 8 to July 7, integrating exotic flowers and plants with elements of classic Chinese culture and intangible cultural heritage skills.
The curated garden, which covers an area of 43 hectares, has long been a major attraction of Pujiang Country Park, a suburban park located in Pudong New Area.
For the exhibition, the park has invited three masters of Chinese intangible culture for the design and arrangement of the flowers and plants in the garden. Among the most impressive displays is a 20,000-square-meter flower tapestry inspired by traditional Chinese arts and handicrafts such as paper cutting, ancient fans, and oil-paper umbrellas.

Many spaces allow visitors to have unique experiences in the garden. Among them is a section curated to present what the Chinese traditionally regard as the four major joyous events in life in the form of floral art: wedding nights, ranking top in the imperial exam, meeting long-lost friends in a foreign land, and the advent of rain after a long drought.
There is another section themed The Book of Songs, China's earliest collection of poems dating back more than 3,000 years.
Also included in the art display are mythical beasts with auspicious meanings from traditional mythology, such as the mythical beasts of heaven, earth, and water in The Shanhaijing, a collection of Chinese mythology and geography also known as The Classic of Mountains and Seas, and a 45-meter-long loong or Chinese dragon carrying good wishes for the New Year.

Set to create an attractive entertainment venue that integrates natural elements and folk culture, the Miracle Garden also plans to launch events with different themes in the coming months, paying tribute to traditional Chinese clothing, spring outings, floral goddesses, and traditional folk arts, according to the park's management.
