Strolling through art: Free exhibitions along the Bund

The Bund — a mile-long waterfront promenade along the Huangpu River — is known not only for its breathtaking views and iconic architecture, but also as a dynamic hub for art and creativity.

Currently, seven free exhibitions are on show along the historic stretch, offering an immersive journey through diverse artistic expressions. Let's explore these captivating displays!

 

Blossom Time

At the Swatch Art Peace Hotel — the south building of the historic Fairmont Peace Hotel — more than 100 international artists have left their mark.

The Blossom Time exhibition brings together 28 artists from 15 countries and regions, including 13 from China, transforming this century-old building into a vibrant art space.

The 8th John Moores Painting Prize (China) Exhibition

Spanning two locations — Bund 18 and Bund 27 — this exhibition presents 100 award-winning and shortlisted paintings, showcasing a rich variety of themes and styles. Whether you are drawn to abstract concepts, hyperrealistic details, or contemporary ink aesthetics, each piece invites you to explore the artist's creative vision.

A Leisurely Stroll with the Horse

Japanese artist Shintaro Miyake blends multiple media — drawings, paintings, sculptures and cutout figures on paper or wood — to capture fleeting moments of city life. It's said that his improvisational style may reveal hidden corners of Shanghai in unexpected ways.

When Time Was Like A River

Armenian-Syrian artist Kevork Mourad presents his first solo project in Asia — featuring installation, work on paper, paintings, and cut-out paintings. This deeply reflective exhibition explores lost civilizations, human resilience and the architecture of memory.

Dirk Salz: Dimensions of Light and Color

One Thousand and One Nights
