Shanghai launches French Film Panorama 2025

The 2025 French Film Panorama in China kicked off in Shanghai on April 12 after an opening ceremony at Premiere Cinemas with a showing of Marcello Mio directed by Christophe Honore.
From now until May 10, two cinemas in Shanghai — Premiere Cinemas at Jing'an Kerry Centre and MOViE MOViE at Taikoo Li Qiantan — will feature the films by both rising stars and legendary actors of French cinema as well as events designed to create an immersive experience.

Isabelle Huppert, one of the most respected actresses in French cinema, is the festival's promotional ambassador. Three films starring Huppert are included in the list.

On April 13, she appeared at MOViE MOViE for a pre-screening event of Sidonie in Japan (French: Sidonie au Japon) and Visiting Hours (French: La prisonniere de Bordeaux).
On April 18, a post-screening discussion of Marcello Mio will be held at 7:15 pm at the Premiere Cinemas with Marco Muller, a noted film producer and critic.

The festival, which continues through June, will feature 10 films of various genres including comedy, action, and sci-fi. They will be shown in multiple cities including Nanjing, Beijing, and Guangzhou.
Since its debut in 2004, the French Film Panorama has been a vital part of the Croisements Festival, promoting cultural exchange between China and France.
Over the years, it has attracted prominent movie stars such as Sophie Marceau, Jean Reno, Ge You, and Zhang Ziyi.
