Discover art and nature at Shanghai's parks

 This summer, Shanghai's parks have come alive with vibrant greenery and cultural offerings, providing a perfect blend of nature and art.

Lu Xun Park

Lu Xun Park, a significant historical and cultural site in Shanghai, houses the Tomb of Lu Xun, a nationally protected landmark. The park’s Zhu Qizhan Art Museum is celebrating its 30th anniversary by hosting a series of events, including the Zhu Qizhan art research exhibition, featuring 22 sets of artwork. Also on offer is the 30th anniversary documentary exhibition, which showcases the museum's development over the past three decades. Additionally, the museum is displaying works by prominent artists from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties and modern masters.

Expo Culture Park

Located along the Huangpu River, the Shanghai Expo Culture Park offers a serene escape with its picturesque landscapes. The Centre d'Art Rodin, or Rodin Art Center, set in the former French Pavilion of the Expo 2010 Shanghai, is presenting its inaugural exhibition Rodin: Figure Charniere vers la Modernite, which includes 106 sculptures, paintings, and ceramic works by renowned French artist Auguste Rodin.

Jing'an Sculpture Park

Jing'an Sculpture Park features contemporary sculptures by artists from around the world. The park is also home to the Shanghai Natural History Museum, which is currently hosting the China's Dinosaur World exhibition. This exhibition includes 118 dinosaur specimens and models from across China, many of which are being shown publicly for the first time.

  • Exhibition dates: Starting May 31
  • Address: No 510 West Beijing Road, Jing'an district
  • Tickets: Visitors can buy tickets online via the official channels by searching for the "Shanghai Science & Technology Museum/Natural History Museum/Astronomy Museum Tickets" WeChat mini program or the "Shanghai Natural History Museum" WeChat account.

Tianshan Park

Tianshan Park, a hidden gem in the city center, is adorned with blooming water lilies and lotuses in summer. The Shanghai Art Collection Museum, located within the park, is hosting the 15th International Exhibition of Traditional Fine Arts, featuring over 180 artworks from 38 countries and regions.

Li'an Park

Li'an Park, with its abundant waterways and large lake, is an ideal spot for camping and picnicking. The park’s Meibo Art Museum is currently hosting The Abundance of Auspiciousness, featuring an exceptional collection of Song Dynasty (960-1279) ceramics and offering visitors an opportunity to explore traditional Chinese art and culture.

  • Tickets: 50 yuan ($6.97) per person
