Jiading art exhibition showcases cross-cultural masterpieces
The touring exhibition of the 15th International Exhibition of Traditional Fine Arts has opened at Fengde Garden in Juyuan New Area, Jiading district. Launched on July 19, the event features over 150 artists across more than 30 countries and regions, offering audiences a cross-cultural artistic experience.
The opening ceremony was marked by a distinctive collaboration between artists from France and Pakistan, who jointly created a piece incorporating elements unique to Juyuan New Area, blending international flair with local charm.
The exhibition boasts a diverse array of works, such as paintings, photography, ceramics, lacquer paintings, and sculptures. Notably, it features pieces by international artists that celebrate the harmonious fusion of Eastern and Western cultures.
For instance, a standout work by Chinese artist Zhu Jiefeng uses mixed media such as rice paper, acrylic, and resin, further enhancing the artwork by merging traditional Chinese rubbings with the aesthetic of Western stained glass windows.
In addition to the visual feast, the exhibition offers interactive workshops focused on intangible cultural heritage. Visitors can engage in activities like crafting coffee-dyed silk scarves, gourd carving, and creating fan ornaments, providing a hands-on experience of the allure of traditional arts.
