Changning to host intl children's art & science exhibition
The Shanghai Art Collection Museum in Changning district will become a global hub for childhood creativity when it hosts the 8th International Children's Art and Science Exhibition from Sept 23 to Oct 31. Young artists from around the world are invited to participate, with the call for entries now open.
This year's exhibition, themed "Symphony of Resonance", promises to captivate audiences by merging artistic expression with the scientific wonders of sound. Through interactive displays and educational content, visitors will be drawn into the fascinating world of sound art, igniting a spirit of exploration and innovation.
The exhibition is divided into four themed sections:
Whispers of the Wind: Nature's Symphony
Inspired by the myriad sounds of nature, this section showcases young artists' interpretations of nature's beauty through painting, collage, and installation. Their works convey reverence for ecological balance and advocate for environmental protection.
Resonant Treasure Box: Echoes of Time
This section traces the evolution of sound recording technology, taking visitors on a historical journey. Using materials such as old tapes, records, and metal parts, young artists craft installations and illustrations that pair sound waves with historical scenes, showing how sound transcends time as a witness to civilization.
Sonic Miniatures: Fantasies of the Unheard
Venturing into the realm of sounds beyond human hearing, this section explores the intriguing applications of ultrasound and infrasound in nature and technology. Young creators use their boundless imaginations to transform invisible sound waves into visual images or interactive installations, showcasing the endless possibilities of the sound world and sparking curiosity about the unknown.
Future Harmonies: Sonic Visions
Looking ahead, this section presents futuristic applications of sound, from voice-controlled smart systems to conversations with AI and sound as a new energy source. These imaginative creations invite reflection on the role of sound in shaping future society.
