Sip and celebrate: Shanghai's tea culture exhibition opens in Jing'an
The Shanghai International Tea Culture Tourism Festival, a highlight of the Shanghai Tourism Festival, commenced its themed exhibition on Sept 6 at the historic Old Shanghai Teahouse in Jing'an district. This event invites visitors to experience the essence of local tea culture, a tradition that continues to thrive and inspire.
In Jing'an, tea culture is more than just a daily ritual; it is a vital part of the community's cultural fabric. It has consistently enriched the lives of its residents, offering both warmth and depth to the urban experience.
The exhibition traces 30 years of tea culture in Jing’an, from humble community gatherings to a world-renowned cultural brand embraced both locally and internationally.
Visitors have the chance to explore faded photographs that vividly capture the essence of the inaugural Tea Culture Tourism Festival in 1994. Display cases present tea canisters exported overseas and cherished tea notes from international enthusiasts during the 2010 World Expo, each piece narrating the district's gentle dialogue with the world.
