Swiss horology masterpieces to make Asian debut
Touching Infinity: Art Beyond Time, a landmark exhibition on horological art, will be held at Shanghai's Waitanyuan, showcasing masterpieces from the International Watch Museum in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.
This immersive display will feature over 160 extraordinary artifacts, spanning 700 years of craftsmanship, from a 14th-century mechanical tower clock to contemporary masterpieces. Among them, 114 pieces are leaving Switzerland for the first time.
Visitors will be allowed to explore eight thematic sections tracing the evolution of timekeeping, accompanied by 15 archival films and 16 sets of sketches and manuscripts revealing the artistic and technical origins of horology.
More than a journey through watchmaking history, the exhibition invites reflection on how humanity has sought to understand time, life, and the cosmos through mechanical precision and artistic expression.
