Opened by Shanghai Century Cloud Culture Development Co, Sinan Books is located in a French garden house, with sycamore trees offering shade during sunny days. This bookstore, which embodies the epitome of Shanghai and modern Chinese history and culture, has a profound humanistic atmosphere that cannot be compared to other bookstores, gradually becoming a new landmark of Shanghai's ideological trends. The 500-square-metre store features a rich red and green retro colour scheme and contains high-quality books in four categories: literature, history, philosophy, and art.

Sinan Books later opened a second location - the Poetry Store located in a former Orthodox church on Gaolan Road. The poetry-focused shop covers more than 1,880 types of books such as poetry collections, essays, commentaries, biographies, and picture books, which has a dedicated section. The collection of powerful poems, towering domes, retro murals, and penetrating sunlight make for a peaceful afternoon of reading.
