The Shanghai Jing'an District Library consists of four branches: the Xinzha Road Branch located in the bustling Jing'an Temple area, the Tianmu Road Branch positioned near Suzhou Creek with the Shanghai Railway Museum opposite, the Wenxi Road Branch situated in the densely populated Pengpu New Village, and the Children's Library on East Kangding Road.

The library provides credit borrowing and book reservations. It is also in the process of establishing themed halls, covering topics like customs and the Commercial Press editions.
