The Shanghai Chongming District Library, with a floor area of 11,000 square meters, houses over 800,000 volumes. It provides access to more than 20 databases, including CNKI, Chongqing VIP Information, Chaoxing, and libdiy.com.

The library offers nearly 1,000 reading seats and over 100 computers for readers. It subscribes to over 1,200 types of newspapers and periodicals annually and serves an average of 1,000 visitors per day.

As a cultural landmark in Chongming New Town, the library offers a diverse array of services, including borrowing, reading, engagement, and collection, maximizing convenience for readers to utilize information resources and engage in communication activities.

The library fully utilizes the Horizon system and Radio Frequency Identification, allowing readers self-service for registration, searches, borrowing, returning, and renewing books within the library.

Readers can also borrow and return books from the library at all public libraries in the city. The establishment of 24-hour self-service libraries both inside and outside the library further enhances readers' access to books.
