The semi-finals of the highly anticipated 10th "Maker in China" SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition recently concluded in Shanghai's Putuo district.

As a vital part of Shanghai's sci-tech innovation landscape, Putuo is fostering the in-depth integration of technological and industrial innovation. Focusing on the intelligent robotics industry, the event provided enterprises with a platform for technological competition and resource aggregation.

During the semi-finals, 64 qualified teams from across the nation competed in the enterprise group and the startup group categories, showcasing cutting-edge products and technological achievements in intelligent robotics. Several Putuo-based enterprises, including Matrix Hyperintelligence, delivered outstanding performances, demonstrating the district's vibrant innovation capabilities in the sector.

Matrix Hyperintelligence's full-size humanoid robot, MATRIX-1, was a highlight of the competition. Released in late 2024, it features a highly anthropomorphic structure and appearance, with high degrees of freedom throughout its body, a fully enclosed shell made of flexible materials, and a five-fingered dexterous hand capable of fine manipulation.

After intense competition, 48 teams advanced to the finals. The finals will be held in Putuo this September, where the district will continue to optimize event support, welcoming outstanding teams from across the country with higher-quality services and better facilities.

Using this competition as an opportunity to further discover and nurture high-potential projects in the intelligent robotics field, Putuo will promote the implementation of new technologies, products, and models, and support regional industrial transformation and upgrades, contributing to Shanghai's goal of becoming a globally influential sci-tech innovation center.
