First inbound exhibit of 7th CIIE arrives in Shanghai
The first inbound exhibit for the 7th China International Import Expo — an electric three-wheeled concept vehicle from Yamaha Motor — completed customs clearance on Sept 18.
It is expected to be a highlight of CIIE, which will take place in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10. Making its debut in China, the vehicle is said to feature a unique three-wheel design and steering system.
To date, more than 2,000 companies from over 100 countries and regions have confirmed their participation in the upcoming CIIE, with a total contracted exhibition area reaching 366,000 square meters.
In preparation for the event, the General Administration of Customs has introduced 18 new streamlined handling measures, building on policies from previous shows.
One of the innovative measures allows animal and plant-based exhibit foods, deemed free of epidemic risks, to be exempt from submitting health or quarantine certificates issued by their country or region of origin.
Additional support measures – including the ability to transfer exhibits to special supervision zones post-event and the promotion of year-round bonded exhibitions and trading – have also been upheld.
Additionally, a new "CIIE zone" function has been added to the China (Shanghai) International Trade Single Window platform. This is designed to enable seamless and paperless operations and online supervision of customs, organizers, and logistics agents.
