Japanese insurance company sees opportunities at CIIE
For Ichiro Yuki, president of Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Company (China) Limited, leading his company to participate in the 7th China International Import Expo has been his top priority since taking office earlier this year.
The CIIE continues to send a strong signal to the world that the Chinese market is open and highly attractive, Yuki said. The company participates in the CIIE for the fourth consecutive time this year.
As a Fortune Global 500 company, Tokio Marine Holdings has been operating in China for over three decades. In 1992, Shanghai became the first city in the Chinese mainland to open up to foreign insurers, with several foreign insurance companies subsequently establishing a presence in the city. In 1994, this corporate group set up a branch in Shanghai, becoming the first foreign-funded property insurance company to enter the Chinese market.
Reflecting on its 30 years of development, the group considers its participation in the CIIE in the past three years as a major event for its development in China.
The CIIE provides the group with a platform to showcase its strengths and achievements. It also assists in understanding global development trends and adjusting the group's development strategy in China, noted Yuki. China boasts a vast market size, rapid economic growth, and continuously improving business environment, he continued.
Working in Chinese cities like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Shanghai, Yuki has his observations and understanding of the Chinese market. In his opinion, as Chinese citizens' wealth increases and their awareness of risk protection grows, the insurance market in China is showing a trend towards diversification and personalization, aided by the continuously improving policy environment. This provides ample room for growth for foreign insurance companies.
By participating in CIIE, the company can engage in in-depth exchanges and learning with counterparts from home and abroad, discover more cooperation opportunities and potential markets, and achieve simultaneous growth in economic and social value. Indeed, through continuous participation in the CIIE, the company has found new partners.
The 7th CIIE coincides with the group's 30 years of business expansion in China. Yuki further mentioned that partaking in this expo will be a milestone for the group's development in China, and marks a new starting point for collaborative and mutually beneficial growth.
