The 8th China International Import Expo will take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) in Qingpu district from Nov 5 to 10.

Shanghai's Qingpu district, as the host of the permanent site of the China International Import Expo, is well-prepared for the event with the clock ticking down to the 8th CIIE.

Officials of various departments of the district introduced key measures covering business matchmaking, transportation service, and urban landscaping during a recent press conference. The district has been working with a spirit of "meticulous craftsmanship" to refine every aspect of its support work.

Expanding trade and investment channels

The district's trading delegation has conducted a series of investment promotion roadshows, building an efficient communication platform for both supply and demand sides.

Up to now, the delegation has registered 3,712 units and 26,425 professional buyers, with the procurement scale and participation enthusiasm steadily increasing, according to the district commerce commission.

Based on the principle of precise connection and effective procurement, Qingpu focuses on promoting "the transformation of exhibitors into investors".

Promoting Qingpu and its cultural assets

For the first time, Qingpu will host two major side events during CIIE, the Qingpu 2025 City Promotion Conference and the Qingpu Cultural Exchange Exhibition.

The promotion conference, set for Nov 6, will feature policy briefings, project signings, alliance launches, and scenario showcases highlighting the district's location advantages, industrial ecosystem, and business opportunities.

Meanwhile, the cultural exchange exhibition will present Qingpu's image, history, and achievements in integrated industrial development, showcasing the district's role as an active contributor to the CIIE platform.

Strengthening transport network

To ensure smooth mobility during the expo, Qingpu has arranged 10 parking lots with 900 spaces for large vehicles and nearly 5,000 spaces for small cars — an increase of over 2,000 compared with last year.

Public transport capacity on key bus routes, especially those linking to Metro Line 9, has been enhanced. Three dedicated shuttle bus lines will run between parking areas and the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from 8 am to 8 pm daily during the event.

In addition, two "micro-vacation bus" routes have been added to the CIIE transportation section of the Suishenxing mobile app, providing bilingual navigation and connecting visitors not only to the venue but also to nearby cultural and tourism sites.

Beautifying environment for CIIE

Qingpu has upgraded the urban landscape around the NECC (Shanghai) with six themed installations, blending floral arrangement, small-scale sculptures, and lighting design.

The nighttime lighting program has refreshed the area's visual identity, creating a seamless connection between the venue's illumination and the surrounding skyline.

The district has also intensified cleaning operations. Sculptures, benches, and electronic boards have been polished and repaired to ensure a clean and orderly urban environment for international guests.
