Good news! Overseas visitors can now enjoy a refund-upon-purchase service right inside the venue. Instead of waiting until the airport to claim your refund, you can receive it instantly after shopping.

Who's eligible
To qualify for the refund-upon-purchase service, overseas visitors must meet the following conditions:
- Spend between 200 yuan and 222,200 yuan at the same store on the same day.
- Goods must be unused and unconsumed.
- Visitors must personally carry or check in the goods when departing China via a Shanghai port within 28 days of the purchase date and within 183 days of their most recent entry.
- Visitors must complete the purchase and obtain both the sales invoice(s) and the Tax Refund Application Form for Overseas Visitors.
- Visitors must hold a credit card that supports pre-authorization as a guarantee.
How it works
During CIIE, two tax refund counters will be available: one at the NECC Store and another next to Hall 5.2. The counters will provide the "refund-upon-purchase" service for eligible purchases from tax-free stores citywide.

At the tax refund counter, simply:
- Present your credit card for pre-authorization
- Sign the service agreement
- Receive your tax refund in renminbi on the spot
Before leaving China, present the unused goods to Customs for inspection. After clearing Customs and security, drop the verified application form into the dedicated mailbox in the departure lounge. There is no need to return to the tax refund counter.
