The first batch of exhibits for the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) cleared customs in Shanghai on Oct 12.

The exhibits, including a turn-mill machining center to make its Asian debut, are from WFL Millturn Technologies, an Austrian manufacturer to participate in the CIIE for the first time.

The company's turn-mill machining center ranks among the world's leading models in the small- and medium-sized turn-mill machine tool segment.

WFL Managing Director Stefan Hackl said China plays an important role in the global manufacturing landscape and the company sees the CIIE and Shanghai as key hubs for expanding its presence in the Asia-Pacific region.

Further shipments, including French tires, Australian coffee, and ice cream from Kazakhstan, are expected to arrive in Shanghai. To expedite customs clearance, Shanghai Customs has set up 123 dedicated service windows and channels.

The 9th CIIE will be held in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10, with more than 1,200 companies from 99 countries and regions to participate.

Building on support measures introduced for previous editions, the General Administration of Customs has issued the Customs Clearance Guide for the 9th China International Import Expo (2026) and the Customs Facilitation Measures Supporting the 9th China International Import Expo (2026).

The documents set out procedures covering the entire process, from exhibit declarations and inspections to post-expo handling.
