Themed city walk routes to discover Shanghai (I)

To showcase Shanghai's rich history and vibrant culture, the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism has launched distinct city walk routes on May 19.

The routes are divided into five categories, namely the "Local Life Tourist Routes", the "Film & Television Travel Routes", the "Shopping Travel Routes", the "Culture & Sports Travel Routes", and the "Exhibition & Expo Travel Routes", with a total of 30 specific routes unveiled. Below is the "Local Life Tourist Routes".

From the "fashionable" Wuzhong vegetable market and the "story shops", mini shops that gather stories from local citizens, on Yuyuan Road, to the coffee time at West Bund and the city walk route along Nanchang Road, Shanghai's distinctive features are full of surprising elements. The city's unique historical background, in combination with its landmark buildings and cultural blocks, draws in tourists from all walks of life.

This route takes you on a journey of historical landmarks, pocket parks, and cultural centers, providing a glimpse into the soul of the city. A highlight of this route is the "66 Phoenix Tree Courtyard", which is only open until May 31.

Nanchang Road, a 1,690-meter-long street in Shanghai, runs through Huangpu and Xuhui districts from east to west. It is a showcase of Shanghai's culture, as it features historical sites, former homes of famous figures, and hidden specialty shops.

Yuyuan Road has a history of over 100 years, and it is known for its vibrant art and lifestyle block. This road is home to more than 110 fashionable shops and art venues, all of which showcase the hottest trends. In addition to shopping and exploring, the block also hosts a variety of cultural events, exhibitions, live shows, and festivals.
