Shanghai Century Park

Transportation: Metro Line 2 at Shanghai Science and Technology Museum Station, Century Park Station

Chenjiashan Lotus Park

Jiabei Country Park's lotus pond spreads across 5.33 hectares and showcases a variety of lotus species. Visitors can enjoy the fresh greenery and witness the beauty of the lotus flowers in full bloom.

 

Chongming Lotus Expo Park

Address: Opposite to Chongming Xisha Wetland Park, Buhu Road, Lyuhua town

Admission: 50 yuan ($6.89) per person

Transportation: Take the Shenchong No 6 bus line to Chongming Nanmen Station, then walk 210 meters to Nanmen Bus Station and transfer to the Nanjian special line. Finally, get off at Xinjian Sluice Station.

SH Blooming Garden

Address: No 6060 Xiujing village, Zhujing town, Jinshan district

Admission: 30 yuan per person

Transportation: Take Metro Line 1 to Lianhua Road Station, take the Lianzhu Line bus to Zhujing Bus Station, before transferring to the Jinfeng Line bus and getting off at the Tingfeng Highway SH Blooming Garden (Xiujing) Bus Stop. Walk for 15-20 minutes to get to the garden entrance.

Nestled in a picturesque setting, the lotus flowers at SH Blooming Garden come in a variety of vibrant hues, creating a stunning contrast with the surrounding greenery and water.

 

Zuibaichi Park

Address: No 64 South Renmin Road, Songjiang district

Xinbang Lotus Base

Address: Southeast corner of the Hucao Road and Yuanhu Road intersection, Songjiang district

Admission: 30 yuan per person

Transportation: Take Metro Line 9 to Songjiang Sports Center Station, then take the Songxinfeng Line bus to Yexin Highway Xingongnan Road (Fangjiaha) Station.

Known as Songjiang's lotus appreciation hotspot, Xinbang Lotus Base covers over 6.67 hectares, offering a rich display of lotus flowers. Don't miss this year's annual Lotus Cultural Festival, which will be held from June 21 to Oct 10 and feature evening lotus viewing experiences and exciting activities like light shows, lotus-inspired cuisine, art exhibitions, and lively performances.

 

Tips for enjoying lotus flowers:

1. Lotus flowers look their best between 6 am and 8 am, when they are freshly unfurled and radiating vibrant colors. By midday, the petals start to close back into buds.

2. Lotus blooms typically occur from June to September, although the exact blooming time varies based on region, variety, and growing conditions.
