With the Shanghai Songjiang Railway Station now fully operational, Songjiang district is now easily accessible by tourists. Explore the fun activities on offer in the district and see what's in store for you this Chinese New Year.

Shanghai Happy Valley

From Dec 20 to Jan 26, Shanghai Happy Valley is hosting the Winter Fun Festival, which features wool installations, drone shows, fireworks, water light displays, float parades, and music parties.

Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park

Dubbed the "Root of Shanghai", this archaeological site features relics from an ancient culture dating back to the Neolithic Age. It is also home to many artifacts left behind by ancient inhabitants that lived in the area 5,000 years ago. Visitors can try their hands at writing Spring Festival couplets, enjoy traditional snacks, and experience the grandeur of traditional Chinese opera, to name a few of the activities on offer.

Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden

Winter in Chenshan Botanical Garden is like a painter's palette of color, with crimson maple leaves and colorful dawn redwoods standing out amid the lush green foliage. From now until Feb 28, students (with their student ID) can enjoy discounted tickets at a price of 10 yuan ($1.36) per person.

Shanghai Film Park

Here, visitors can experience not only the charm of old Shanghai through the classic buildings and streets, but also enjoy an immersive classic film experience during the upcoming Year of the Snake. There are also lion dances, retro dances, and other activities on offer such as Chinese acrobatics and Sichuan opera magical face-changing performances. Led by film experts, visitors can even get a glimpse of what goes on behind-the-scenes of a film set.

Dream City

Remember the Smurfs' village, hidden away in a forest and unknown to the world? Well, you can stop searching for it and instead embark on a Smurfs-themed adventure at the Dream City amusement park here at the Songjiang district. Special activities await you this Chinese New Year.

Shanghai Sculpture Park

Shanghai Sculpture Park boasts over 80 modern sculptures from more than 10 countries, blending modern art with nature. From now until February 16 (including weekends and the Spring Festival holiday from Jan 28 to Feb 4), the park is offering special two-for-one tickets!

Jegoplay Too Pancoat Park

Children's imaginations run wild at Jegoplay Too Pancoat Park, a large-scale outdoor family-friendly amusement park, which features six major thematic areas and over 100 amusement facilities. From STEAM classes to the God of Wealth parade to the Snake Jumping Over Dragon Gate challenge, and then to activities such as writing auspicious characters and creating your own little snake, there is a wide variety of colorful events to choose from, making it a great option for families looking to enjoy some fun activities away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Shanghai.

Origin of Huangpu River

The Huangpu River originates in Dongxia village, Shihudang township. Here, rivers from Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces meet and flow into the Huangpu River, the mother river of Shanghai, creating a picturesque Jiangnan water town scene.

Looking for a fun way to spend Spring Festival? Come to the Origin of the Huangpu River for activities like dragon searching, horse riding, tea drinking, and lantern appreciation.
