First stop: Watch the sunrise

The convergence of the Yangtze River, the Huangpu River, and the Wenzao River provides Wusongkou with a unique natural setting for witnessing the sunrise.
With a 6-kilometer riverside promenade, the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal, and expansive waters, the sunrise views here are truly magnificent.
The Wusongkou Sunrise Index unveiled by the local weather service utilizes advanced forecasting technology to predict sunrise conditions for the upcoming three days with an 80 percent accuracy rate. Follow the WeChat account of the Baoshan district government at "sh-baoshan" for the daily bulletin.

Second stop: Viewing cherry blossoms

The 15th Shanghai Cherry Blossom Festival at Gucun Park, from March 15 to April 15, promises to be a grand party not to be missed.



The festival will feature 12 exciting activities covering tourism, culture, sports, commerce, and cruises, along with the debut of nighttime cherry blossom viewing.

With an expanded area of over 1,600 acres and 16,000 trees of 120 varieties, Cherry Blossom Island, spanning 160,000 square meters near Gate No 2, will host day and night activities enhanced by light and shadow effects.

It will feature a cosplay stage, traditional Chinese-style markets, and a night stay package at Hengshan Beijiao Hotel, offering visitors a dual experience of daytime blossom viewing and nighttime scenic tours.
Various ticket options are available, including a combined ticket for Gucun Park and Cherry Blossom Island, as well as discounted morning entry tickets ranging from 25 yuan to 98 yuan.
Cherry Blossom Island has a daily limit of 20,000 tickets, with 16,000 allocated for combined tickets and 4,000 for nighttime entry from 6 pm to 9 pm. Tickets are exclusively online only. Visitors are advised to make reservations in advance.

How to get there
Gucun Park is easily accessible by subway and bus. Metro lines 7 and 15 stop at Gucun Park Station, located near Gate No 2. Several bus routes provide access to the park's different entrances:
Gate 1: Jiatai Line, No 963, No 527, No 528, etc.
Gate 2: Baoshan No 3 Road, Baoshan No 29 Road, No 1604, No 1605, etc.
Gate 3: No 1604
A total of 6,000 spaces are available for parking around the park.
For cruise visitors

During the festival, Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal will provide special cherry blossom shuttle services for overseas tourists arriving on visiting cruise ships.
For the cruise ship AIDA STELLA visiting the port on March 16, details about activities will be shared in the ship's daily bulletin. Interested individuals can sign up and take a special shuttle to Gucun Park for cherry blossom viewing.
