National Day spectacle in Baoshan: Arts, sports, and celebration

As the National Day holiday approaches, Shanghai's Baoshan district is set to transform into a vibrant hub of international events and local charm. Anchored by the Shanghai International Cruise Tourism Resort, the district is poised to offer a diverse array of festive activities, providing residents and visitors alike with diverse leisure and vacation options.

Signature events

🎉 Wusongkou Air Theater (Sept 30 & Oct 1): For two spectacular nights, the Baoshan riverside will be illuminated with a dazzling display of fireworks and drone performances. Featuring the beloved Chinese mythology characters Nezha and Monkey King, these shows promise to captivate audiences with their stunning visuals and enchanting storytelling.

🎉 Yangtze River Cultural Food Festival (Oct 2-8): Discover the flavors of the Yangtze River as 11 provinces and cities showcase their signature cuisines. This festival also features performances that integrate elements such as intangible cultural heritage, pet markets, and technology.

🎉 Yangtze Estuary Water Sports Carnival (Oct 5-7): At Shanghai Sea World, thrill-seekers can enjoy an exhilarating lineup of water sports such as water ballet, aerial acrobatics, wake surfing, artistic water skiing, and jet ski racing.

🎉 Long Beach Art Festival (Oct 1-8): Spanning a kilometer of riverbank, the festival transforms the area into an open-air art gallery featuring six themed graffiti walls. Visitors can also enjoy an arts market, street performances, and youth painting activities.

Beyond these marquee events, Shanghai Sea World will celebrate its anniversary with music, dance, and magic. Meanwhile, the 180-meter-high Long Beach Tower invites adventurers to embark on a high-altitude exploration journey, promising a variety of thrilling challenges.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy the Shanghai Tourism Festival float parade, the Shanghai International Light Festival, and the Riverside Lawn Beer Festival.

👉 Romantic leisure tour (Sept 30 & Oct 1)

Begin your evening on Sept 30 by taking in the captivating fireworks and drone show at Baoshan riverside. Stroll through Bolang Park or relax with a beer at the Lighthouse Camp.

On Oct 1, greet the morning at Wusong Paotaiwan National Wetland Park, where you can catch the sunrise and watch cruise ships majestically dock at Wusongkou. Spend the late morning surfing, diving, and skateboarding at Shanghai Sea World. In the afternoon, visit Long Beach Tower, where you can challenge yourself at the adventure park and enjoy a sunset at the One Step Garden restaurant.

End your day with a breathtaking view of the National Day drone and fireworks show from a 180-meter-high perspective.

👉 F1H2O racing tour (Oct 2-4)

Stay at Baoshan riverside and start your day with a sunrise at Wusongkou. During the day, feel the excitement of the F1H2O World Championship races, and then enjoy the graffiti art and street performances along the riverside.

You can also take a leisurely bike ride while sampling Yangtze River delicacies. As night falls, be mesmerized by the unique light and shadow show.

👉 Moon viewing tour (Oct 5-7)

Stay at Baoshan riverside and witness the enchanting sight of cruise ships docking at sunrise. Delight in the day's thrilling performances, including water acrobatics, wake surfing, and artistic water skiing at Shanghai Sea World.

In the evening, gather with family to view the Mid-Autumn full moon along the river and savor Yangtze River cuisine at the One Step Garden restaurant within Paotaiwan wetland park.
