Putuo launches stamp-collecting activity celebrating Suzhou Creek life
Shanghai's Putuo district has launched a regular stamp-collecting activity at two tourism service centers, offering a "Yu Shu Lin Feng" multi-color stamp and themed stamps for its 10 subdistricts and towns.
The stamps condense Putuo's industrial heritage, trendy landmarks and street life into small square designs and have quickly won fans.
The "Yu Shu Lin Feng" stamp, named after Putuo's inbound tourism brand, centers on the Changshou Bay area along Suzhou Creek. "Yu" stands for the Jade Buddha Temple; "Shu" for Tian An 1000 Trees, known for its "floating forest" design; "Lin," a homophone of the Chinese word for zero, for M50 Creative Park; and "Feng" for the breeze on a cruise from Changhua Road Wharf.
Themed stamps for the 10 subdistricts and towns capture everything from the revolutionary heritage of Changshou Road and the autumn leaves of Caoyang Xincun's no-sweep lanes to the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) water gate ruins in Ganquan and the old Hero Pen Factory site that is now Taopu Smart City.
Collection is now open at two service centers: The Changfeng Park Pier Tourism Service Center (No 160 Daduhe Road, Building 3, 10 am to 4 pm) and the Moganshan Road Art District Tourism Service Center (Room 104, Building 6, No 50 Moganshan Road, 10 am to 4 pm).
