During the Shanghai Spring International Music Festival, French jazz band Accordzéâm graced the stage of Wanping Theater with an ensemble of violins, cellos, guitars, clarinets, drums, accordions, and niche folk instruments from around the world.

Their performance was a captivating fusion of drama, pop, rock, country, jazz, folk music, and improvisation, all centered around Schubert's Trout Quintet (German: Die Forelle) as the main theme.

Established for over 20 years, Accordzéâm has five talented members who have embarked on world tours, leaving lasting impressions. This year's Shanghai Spring International Music Festival extended a special invitation to these musicians, renowned not only for their classical music roots but also for their exceptional humor and childlike innocence.

During their rehearsals for the Shanghai performance, the group prepared a segment of dialogue in Mandarin. Jonathan Malnoury, guitarist and clarinetist, rehearsed a line meaning "I am too old" multiple times.

The performance concluded with a delightful surprise as Shanghai musicians joined them on stage, presenting the original rendition of Schubert's Trout Quintet.
