Following the debut of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Love Never Dies, Chicago marks the second English musical ever showcased at the AIA Grand Theatre.

Chicago, a timeless gem, holds the record as the longest-running US musical on Broadway and London's West End. Premiering in 1975 under the creative genius of Bob Fosse and the renowned lyricist duo John Kender and Fred Ebb, this musical unfolds the gripping tale of Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly. With the help of shrewd lawyer Billy Flynn, these women navigate fame and infamy, evading the death penalty in a captivating and absurd narrative.

Featuring captivating dance sequences, seductive moves, and unforgettable jazz tunes, Chicago has garnered global acclaim and earned numerous prestigious awards.

The star-studded premiere of Chicago kicked off with a glamorous cast meet-and-greet, a red-carpet affair, and a vintage-themed soiree, setting the stage for this month-long musical extravaganza in Shanghai.

Starring Sarah Soetaert as Roxie Hart, Djalenga Scott as Velma Kelly, and Ian Kelsey as Billy Flynn, this production promises to sweep audiences off their feet with its dark allure and 1920s glamour.

Besides Chicago, the AIA Grand Theatre is bringing forth other captivating summer performances, such as the Chinese musical Lost in the Stars and the Russian master pantomime Slava's Snow Show.
