Art group unveils January lineup
Shanghai Grand Theatre Arts Group is set to host a spectacular lineup of performances in January, offering a diverse range of entertainment options for art enthusiasts in the city.
The French original musical Notre Dame de Paris will be staged at the Shanghai Culture Square from Jan 3 to 27. This musical is based on Victor Hugo's renowned literary masterpiece, with lyrics by Luc Plamondon and music by Richard Cocciante. The production has garnered critical acclaim and received multiple prestigious awards and accolades since its debut in France in 1998.
The One Voice Children's Choir from the United States, comprising 180 talented children from around the world, will showcase a diverse repertoire ranging from traditional hymns to contemporary hits on Jan 3 and 4.
On Jan 5, Chinese pianist Lang Lang will have a solo concert at the main theatre of the Shanghai Grand Theatre.
The Forbidden City New Year Concert by the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra will be held at the Jaguar Shanghai Symphony Hall on Jan 19, paying homage to Chinese cultural heritage with a series of enchanting works.
The Cello Guitar Duet Concert by Chinese musicians Pan Chang and Kuang Junhong will be performed at Cadillac Shanghai Concert Hall on Jan 11.
In addition to these performances, a variety of theatrical productions, comedy shows, and exhibitions will be held throughout January.
Shanghai Grand Theatre Arts Group is a non-profit performing arts organization founded in 2005. It manages various venues, including the Shanghai Grand Theatre, Shanghai Concert Hall, and Shanghai Culture Square.
