Kicking off on July 20, the 2025 Shanghai International Guitar Festival offers a rich celebration of strings, style, and soul.

This year’s edition features a vibrant program of performances by internationally acclaimed musicians, highlighting the depth and diversity of contemporary guitar artistry.

Opening Concert

Renowned as the “King of Guitar”, Marco Tamayo will take the stage alongside veteran maestros to bring fresh energy to beloved pop and musical favorites. Adding to the celebration, two Chinese guitar ensembles will perform Hawaiian standards and pick guitar classics, setting a vibrant tone for the festival’s grand opening.

Showcase of national conservatory guitar instructors

This showcase brings together guitar instructors from conservatories across the country, joined by special guests Bastian Hildner, a distinguished German classical guitarist, and Endo Yosuke, a celebrated Japanese virtuoso.

Closing gala
