Secure your spots for 'Bells and Spells'
The acclaimed French theater production Bells and Spells will be performed at Shanghai's Theatre Young from Oct 24 to 26, with tickets now available for purchase.
Directed by Victoria Chaplin, daughter of the legendary actor Charlie Chaplin and granddaughter of playwright Eugene O'Neill, the production stars Aurelia Thierree, Victoria Chaplin's daughter, in the lead role.
Thierree portrays a kleptomaniac who finds herself caught up in a series of strange adventures when the items she steals come to life.
The performance is non-verbal, relying on dance, magic, and puppetry to tell the story and creatively portray the protagonist's journey.
The production is also praised for its set design, which uses vintage decor and art pieces to evoke the feel of an 18th-19th-century antique shop. Props, such as a coat hanger morphing into a silver bird beak, are designed to engage the audience's imagination, enhanced by the performers' expressive movements.
