Global melodies unite at Shanghai City Lawn Concert
As part of the China Shanghai International Arts Festival's public benefit programs, the 2025 Shanghai City Lawn Concert opened on Oct 16 in Huangpu district.
The event brings together 19 top artist groups from 30 countries and regions, including Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Ireland, Russia, and Italy, offering audiences an extraordinary audiovisual feast.
This year's concert lineup features 16 world-class performances, showcasing a diverse array of genres, from opera, symphony, and jazz to traditional Chinese music, puppet shows, and magic. Highlights include:
- A staging of Romeo and Juliet by French opera singers
- The puppet comedy Wild West Cabaret by German Fifth Wheel Theatre
- An ensemble of three international magic masters from Spain, Switzerland, and Brazil, who will dazzle audiences during the Shanghai International Magic Week
- The Tyumen Philharmonic Orchestra from Russia, celebrated as the "cultural treasure of Siberia", performing alongside Chinese pianist Fang Yan in a program of timeless Chinese and Russian classics
- Italy's renowned century-old ocarina ensemble, GOB, presenting a captivating septet concert
