Schaubuhne Berlin has participated in the annual theater season every year since 2024. Hamlet and Everywoman were staged in 2024, followed by Michael Kohlhaas and Richard III in 2025. This year, the company returns with Thomas Ostermeier's staging of The Marriage of Maria Braun.

Based on Rainer Werner Fassbinder's 1979 film, the play traces a woman's life to reflect the changes in German society, intertwining personal fate with national history.

The stage adaptation premiered at the Schaubuhne Berlin in 2009. In 2014, it was featured at the Festival d'Avignon in France and has since traveled to cities worldwide, including Paris, Venice, and Madrid. Known for its innovative stage language and deep human insight, it has become one of the company's most celebrated productions internationally.
