Marking its 10th anniversary, the German electro-classical crossover group Symphoniacs will give its first concert in China on Oct 2 at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center.

Founded in Berlin in 2016 by acclaimed producer and composer Andy Leomar, Symphoniacs brings together six seasoned musicians active on the European classical scene, including principals and award-winning performers from leading orchestras such as the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Bayreuth Wagner Festival orchestra, and musicAeterna.

While Symphoniacs performs with classical instruments, its sound is anything but traditional. Violin, cello, and piano are fused with electronic elements and synthesizers to create a fresh, genre-defying musical experience.

At their Shanghai concert, audiences will hear classic works such as Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, along with pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, all reimagined with electronic beats and synth sounds. The program also features reworked pop hits by artists including Coldplay, Justin Timberlake, Daft Punk, David Guetta, and Avicii.
