A concert celebrating the 30th anniversary of the legendary album Buena Vista Social Club will be held on Sept 13 at the Grand Neobay Cultural Arts Center in Shanghai. The performance will be presented by Cumanay, a Cuban national ensemble with deep ties to the album's legacy. The group was founded in 1996, the same year the album was released.

With more than 8 million copies sold worldwide, Buena Vista Social Club is widely regarded as a timeless classic of Cuban music. The album captures the spirit of Cuba's musical golden age and won a Grammy Award in 1998. Cumanay has long been rooted in traditional Cuban music, delivering nuanced performances that balance fiery rhythms with delicate melodies.
