The 2026 Shanghai Global Investment Promotion Conference and "Invest in Shanghai" Week will open on March 14. The conference will be held for the first time at the Shanghai Eastern Hub International Business Cooperation Zone in Pudong New Area.

An international business gateway

Positioned as an international business gateway, the Eastern Hub International Business Cooperation Zone is designed to facilitate efficient cross-border flow of goods, services, and personnel.

Foreign visitors with valid invitations may enter the business cooperation zone without visas or additional permits and stay for up to 30 days per visit. They may also travel to other parts of Shanghai under applicable visa-free policies.

The business cooperation zone provides facilities for exhibitions, commerce, culture, and sports, supported by multilingual services, international aviation connectivity, quality healthcare, and diversified payment options.

It also serves as a high-standard research and development hub, supporting international teams in cross-border collaboration and fostering innovation in offshore, services, and digital trade.

An efficient government–business dialogue platform

The 2026 Shanghai Global Investment Promotion Conference will feature a main promotion meeting and a series of parallel events, including enterprise roundtables, investment matchmaking sessions, and themed promotion activities.

As part of the conference, the "Invest Shanghai Lounge" will be set up to provide a central platform for direct engagement between government representatives and market participants. Through an online conference system, attendees may schedule meetings with district heads, policymakers, and representatives of leading investment institutions.

Heads of Shanghai's 16 districts and four key functional areas (special administrative or development zones) will participate in project discussions. Representatives from municipal departments responsible for economy and informatization, finance, commerce, science and technology, culture and tourism, and State-owned assets supervision will provide on-site policy consultation.

Leading investment institutions and venture capital firms will also participate in financing services and project roadshows, facilitating connections between innovative enterprises and capital markets.

Broader access to Shanghai's industrial opportunities

Beyond the main venue, the conference will feature more than 20 industry-focused promotion events and more than 20 specialized investment tour routes, offering participants first-hand insight into Shanghai's industrial ecosystem.

These activities will showcase sectors such as advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, commercial aerospace, and shipbuilding.

By integrating policy support, industrial resources, and financial services, the conference aims to reinforce Shanghai's position as a leading global investment destination.
