Shanghai Eastern Hub International Business Cooperation Zone has established four permanent port visa service windows to improve the entry experience for international visitors, Shanghai's public security authorities announced on March 10.

The service windows offer expedited port visa processing for foreign visitors engaged in business negotiations, contract signings and factory visits.

The move comes ahead of the Appliance & Electronics World Expo 2026, which will be held at both the Eastern Hub IBCZ and the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from March 12 to 15.

A benchmark area in terms of opening-up and business-friendly climate, the Eastern Hub IBCZ allows invited individuals from all countries with valid invitations to enter without visas or other entry permits, and they can stay for up to 30 days per entry and can apply for extensions if needed.

To ensure the safety and efficiency of the upcoming Appliance & Electronics World Expo, Shanghai's public security authorities have introduced a series of measures to improve services for international visitors.

A "Blue Whale Business Service Workstation" has been set up within the Eastern Hub IBCZ's police station, providing services including policy interpretation, security guidance, and case acceptance.

In addition, an immigration service station offers both online and offline immigration policy consultation. A "three-party coordination" mediation room, staffed with police officers and lawyers, will provide legal advice and mediate disputes to protect the rights of exhibitors and visitors.

To manage anticipated large crowds, a tidal traffic management system has been implemented at the inspection hall to dynamically adjust entry and exit lanes based on real-time passenger flow.

Dedicated parking for the expo, designated drop-off points for ride-hailing services, and a staging area for freight vehicles are in place to separate traffic types and reduce congestion.

Temporary storage boxes and luggage deposit services are available at both domestic and international inspection halls, allowing attendees to move freely.

Electric vehicles are provided for elderly or disabled individuals within the exhibition area. Furthermore, digital AI screens, multilingual brochures, and multilingual police officers are available to provide comprehensive support and information.
