Shanghai's Jiading district launched its themed event "Fun Summer in Jiading" on July 5, as part of the Shanghai Summer International Consumption Season. The event, which will run until October, aims to boost local consumption and showcase the district's unique attractions.

At the launch ceremony, the local commerce authorities unveiled a handbook detailing promotional activities for the 2024 Shanghai Summer season. Six local businesses, including the Shanghai-style commercial street Xiyunlou, the shopping complex Life Hub@Anting, and Laoshengchang Soup Dumplings, presented their consumer-friendly promotions on-site. Over 100 merchants, including well-known brands like JD.com, Li-Ning, Volvo, NIO, Sam's Club, and more, gathered at Xiyunlou to create diverse consumer experiences. Visitors to this trendy street got to chance to experience food trucks, cultural and creative products, specialty cocktails, live music performances, and open-air film screenings.

The "Fun Summer in Jiading" event will feature 15 flagship activities and 40 key events that combine commerce, tourism, culture, and sports. Some highlights include:

1. "CHEERUP!" at Incity Mega, Nanxiang town (Aug 2 – Sept 17): This collaboration between La Liga and lifestyle sharing platform Xiaohongshu features interactive zones showcasing Spanish football culture. La Liga is the top professional football division of the Spanish football league system. It is renowned for its high level of play and features famous clubs like FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.

2. Jiading Xiyunlou Second Annual Beer Festival (May 31 – Aug 31): This event is a three-month summer night beer festival that offers craft beers, electronic music, gourmet food, and various entertainment options.

3. Pet Carnival at TSF Shopping Center (Aug 31 – Sept 1): This pet-themed market features various stalls for pet supplies, veterinary services, pet adoption, and related products.

4. Graduation Season Parent-Child Theme Party at New Field (Aug 3 & 10): To ensure that all members of the family have an enriching summer, this event features parent-child education activities, graduation parties, flea markets, and outdoor family experiences.

5. First Liucheng New Field Billiards Tournament (Aug 17): The amateur billiards competition, set to take place at Liucheng New Field under the supervision of a panel of seasoned judges, promises to inject a sporty vibe into the festive season.

These events are designed to create a vibrant summer consumption atmosphere in Jiading, combining flagship activities with distinctive local features to attract visitors to the district.
