Major exhibitions in Shanghai this August

More than 30 major exhibitions are scheduled across Shanghai this August. Leading the lineup is the China Digital Entertainment Expo and Conference, widely known as ChinaJoy. As a flagship event of the inaugural Shanghai International Anime Month, it promises an immersive experience in digital entertainment.

Pet Fair Asia, a cornerstone of the global pet industry, also returns at scale. Trade shows in energy storage and home textiles will further spotlight the city's role as a hub for innovation and commerce. Here is your guide to the standout events:

 

ChinaJoy 2025

When: Aug 1 to 4

Where: Shanghai New International Expo Centre (No 2345 Longyang Road, Pudong New Area)

ChinaJoy is one of the most influential events in the global digital entertainment and tech industry. Every year, it draws tens of thousands of professionals, media, and gamers from around the world. This year:

  • 743 companies will participate, including 237 international exhibitors from 37 countries and regions, such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and South Korea.
  • The BTOC interactive hall will host over 280 companies across 110,000 square meters.
  • The BTOB business hall will host over 460 companies across 25,000 sq m, with 208 international exhibitors accounting for 45.2 percent of the total.

Tickets are available via Damai, Piaoxingqiu, Alipay Blue Sparks, Ctrip, Bilibili, and the official ChinaJoy WeChat mini program (search CJ魔方).

Where: National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) (No 333 Songze Avenue, Qingpu district)

Now in its fourth edition, this leading energy storage expo continues to drive the advancement and integration of the energy storage and new energy industries. The 2025 event is set to surpass previous records in scale, exhibitors, and visitors. It aims to:

  • Strengthen domestic brand presence
  • Connect industry resources and support project implementation

Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles (Autumn)

Where: National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) (No 333 Songze Avenue, Qingpu district)

This is the 31st edition of the premier global trade fair for home textiles. Key highlights include:

  • 1,200 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions
  • 60,000 professional visitors from over 100 countries and regions
  • 110,000 sq m of exhibition space across 12 themed zones

This fair presents the full home furnishing ecosystem and supports brands in expanding their global footprint, with a particular focus on emerging markets such as Central Asia, Africa, Latin America, and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
