Hongqiao promotes investment opportunities in Seoul

​A delegation from the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District (CBD) Administrative Commission hosted an investment promotion event in Seoul, aiming to strengthen economic ties between Shanghai and South Korea.

Yang Xubo, deputy director of the administrative commission, presented Hongqiao's strengths, inviting South Korean businesses to explore the many opportunities in Hongqiao.

This year marks the 32nd anniversary of China-South Korea diplomatic relations. South Korea is a key trade partner for Shanghai, with bilateral trade reaching 195.98 billion yuan ($28.72 billion) in 2025, especially in integrated circuits, electromechanical products, and beauty products.

According to Yang, the Hongqiao CBD, a vital hub for international trade, is home to many South Korean companies and has achieved remarkable cooperation results in high-end manufacturing, biomedicine, and the digital economy.

Yang emphasized Hongqiao's key role in the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region and the hosting of the annual China International Import Expo. He assured that the district offers a business-friendly environment, providing comprehensive support for foreign enterprises.

The event resulted in several South Korean companies expressing strong interest in investing in the district, promising to accelerate project implementation and enhance Shanghai-South Korea economic cooperation.
