The Shanghai International Coffee Culture Festival, also the second West Bund International Coffee Lifestyle Festival, is scheduled to start on April 30 and run until May 4 with a variety of cultural, tourism, and sports events around the Xuhui district West Bund area.

The bank of the Huangpu River will serve as the festival's venue, covering 17,000 square meters, twice the size of last year. It will host over 180 stands, ranging from local shops to international brands like COSTA and Lavazza.

This year's festival featured traditional culture, extreme sports, and other performances. Combined with the fifth Shanghai Shopping Festival and Shanghai International Flower Show, it will provide visitors with diversified immersive leisure experiences.

The West Bund area has been popular for its arty and lively atmosphere in recent years thanks to leisure destinations such as the West Bund Nature Art Park and the West Bund Museum, according to Jiang Yan, vice president of Xuhui district’s administration of culture and tourism.

Shanghai continues to lead the world with a total of 9,553 coffee shops at the end of 2023, the most of any other city globally. Altogether there will be five coffee-themed events during the May Day holiday.
