1. 2024 Shanghai International Carbon Neutrality Expo in Technologies, Products and Achievements

The expo will gather more than 600 companies from 14 countries and regions to unveil the latest achievements and emerging trends in the realm of carbon neutrality.

2. The 10th China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair

3. Design Shanghai 2024

1. Fantastic Visions: 100 Years of Surrealism from the National Galleries of Scotland

Ready to make its debut in China, this exhibition offers a captivating journey through a century of surrealism. It is divided into three sections, vividly illustrating the evolution of surrealism from the early to late 20th century.

2. Ages of Splendor: A History of Spain in the Museo del Prado

This exhibition features 70 masterpieces from the collections of Museo del Prado. Among the exhibition pieces, which is Prado's the largest presentation in China so far, 16 pieces have never been viewed outside of Spain.

3. I Never Dream Otherwise than Awake: Journeys in Sound

4. Matias Sanchez: The Vice of Painting

The exhibition showcases Matias Sanchez, a prominent Spanish painter that is known for his exceptional talent. Using oil paint, Sanchez skillfully portrays absurd and surreal scenes that captivate the audience with their richness and intrigue, demonstrating his mastery of the medium.

6. Chen Yingjie Solo Exhibition: Intuitive Wanderings

This solo exhibition showcases Chen Yingjie's latest creations, inspired by his recent travels to Yunnan province, Xizang autonomous region, and other locations. Chen, a post-90s artist, has extensively explored remote wilderness areas, often sketching outdoors under time constraints. His works exhibit a sense of speed and spontaneity due to the mixed improvisation and rapid on-the-spot creation techniques he employs during his artistic process.

7. Mehdi Ghadyanloo: The Stolen Memories

This exhibition will present 18 works by Iranian artist Mehdi Ghadyanloo, of which 12 oil paintings and watercolor paintings are new creations. From 2004 to 2011, Ghadyanloo painted more than 100 giant murals in the Iranian capital to bring hope and color back to the city.

8. Surprendre Le Jour Avec La Nuit

French artist Milène Sanchez's debut exhibition outside of Europe has made its way to Shanghai's Icicle space, showcasing a collection of artworks that delve into the themes of life, eternity and sensibility.

Festivals

1. Shanghai Night Festival 2024

This night festival will host a series of special events, such as Night at Museum, Night at Zoo, Sports Night activities. It is also ready to launch this year's Terrace Season, Park Season, and Waterfront Season.

2. The 26th Shanghai International Film Festival

As the only international competitive film festival in China, SIFF serves as a crucial window to China's film development. The opening ceremony will be held on the evening of June 15 and the Golden Goblet Awards Ceremony will be held on June 22, both at the Shanghai Grand Theatre.

3. The 29th Shanghai TV Festival

The esteemed Magnolia awards ceremony of Shanghai TV Festival will be held on the evening of June 28 at the Lin-gang Performing Arts Center. The selection of the festival's Magnolia Awards has attracted nearly 1,000 entries from 57 countries and regions across all five continents.

Musicals

1. No Longer Human

This musical is based on the phenomenal novel of the same name, and features shining stars such as actor Bai Jugang and musical idol Liu Lingfei. The musical sheds light on the topic of Eastern patriarchy and how prevalent it is in society even now.

2. Li Qingzhao

This dance performance pays tribute to Li Qingzhao (1084 to 1155), a renowned poet from the Song Dynasty (960 to 1279). Li was also one of the most celebrated female literati in ancient China.

3. Eden by Joyce DiDonato

Internationally acclaimed second soprano and three-time Grammy Award winner Joyce DiDonato will present her latest and most significant work,

Eden, in Shanghai, marking the premiere of her Asia tour.

Eden delves into the intricate relationship between humanity and nature through the theme of natural balance and symbiosis. This immersive experience guides the audience to explore the essence of nature, resonate with its rhythms, and unravel the mysteries of life.

4. Mozart-L'opera Rock

Through a combination of original rock music and Mozart's classics, this French musical depicts the artistic life of musician Mozart.

Sports Events

1. 2024 World University Championship Futsal

The event is hosted by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), and it strives to promote sportsmanship and spark interest in university-level football globally. The event is held every two years.

2. The 4th Shanghai Citizen Games (Go-Kart Race)

Sports enthusiasts in Shanghai, except professionals, can register to participate in this go-karting race, with tickets for a comprehensive karting experience awarded to winners.
