Shanghai Culture Square has released the schedule of its year-end season at its Shanghai Music Culture Research Center on June 18.
The list features shows such as the German original musicals Rebecca and Ludwig II: The king is back, and the 2025 New Year's concert by the Little Choir of Antoniano. It also includes four original musical productions, namely Casanova, Hamlet, The orphan of Zhao, and Notre Dame de Paris.
Since its inception in 2011, Shanghai Culture Square has been committed to being a cultural landmark where art and dreams prosper. Over the past 13 years, its year-end theater season has presented 41 domestic and overseas shows, totaling 605 performances.
This year's year-end season highlights three high-quality original overseas musicals, Rebecca, Ludwig II and Casanova, all of which are new to China.

Rebecca, a musical adaptation of the 1938 novel of the same name by Daphne du Maurier, was jointly composed by Sylvester Levay and Michael Kunze. The plot, which adheres closely to the original novel, revolves around Maxim DeWinter, and his naive new wife, called "I". Rebecca will run from Nov 5 to 17.

Since its debut in 2016, Ludwig II has been presented in many renowned theaters, including the lavish Festspielhaus Fussen. The show will be staged in Shanghai from Dec 12 to 15. This is the show's only stop in China.
Casanova, an Italian original musical based on Matteo Strukul's best-seller Giacomo Casanova - la sonata dei cuori infranti, tells the legendary story of adventurer Giacomo Casanova. The musical will take the stage from Dec 20 to 28.
