World's 1st women's vertical marathon held in Shanghai

On June 23, approximately 500 women from various countries and regions participated in the inaugural Shanghai Tower Women's Vertical Marathon at the Shanghai Tower, the tallest building in China, with a height of 632 meters.
The race began at 8:30 am, with the course spanning from the 79th to the 119th floor of the tower. Chinese athlete Zhi Xinran secured first place with a time of 7 minutes and 1 second.

This is the world's first women's vertical marathon.
As part of the Shanghai Tower Vertical Marathon series, the event coincided with International Olympic Day.

Since its inception in 2017, the Shanghai Tower Vertical Marathon has become one of the world's premier events, known for its large-scale, high-ranking points, and being held in the tallest building.

In addition to the race, the organizers hosted a three-day event carnival starting June 21, offering participants and spectators a variety of exciting sports and entertainment experiences.
