Shanghai youth sci-tech innovation camp unites global young innovators
The 2024 Shanghai International Youth Science & Technology Innovation Camp and the "Science & Technology Stars of Tomorrow" Invitation Tournament (formerly known as the Shanghai International Youth Science & Technology Expo) commenced on Aug 2 in Fengxian district, Shanghai. United by the theme of "Technology, Innovation, and Dreams", this prestigious event brought together over 180 educators and students from 63 schools worldwide.

Student scientific innovation showcase
From Aug 2 to 4, the camp featured an exhibition that highlighted youth-driven science and technology innovations. Participants presented 30 science and technology projects and over 20 science initiatives, spanning cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, environmental technology, bioengineering, aerospace, and carbon neutrality.

27 interactive booths
For the first time, various universities, enterprises, research institutes, and educational bureaus in Shanghai organized 27 interactive booths that showcased the city's premium science and education resources. Highlights included Baidu's new-generation large model "Wenxin Yiyan" and Huawei's youth PBL integrated low-code practical course.

Insights from world-class scientists
The event will feature presentations by two eminent scientists: Fields Medal winner Efim Zelmanov and China's leading racetrack designer Yao Qiming. These distinguished speakers will share their insights, engage in discussions, and interact with participants, offering new resources, methodologies, concepts, and directions in science and technology innovation education.
"Science & Technology Stars of Tomorrow" Invitation Tournament
The "Science & Technology Stars of Tomorrow" Invitation Tournament, the most popular competition of the Youth Innovation Camp, has recently announced its rules and topics. This competition tests the comprehensive technological innovation capabilities of each team and features a unique rule requiring schools to pair up and collaborate with one another, emphasizing teamwork.
Cultural exchange and experience tours
The organizing committee will plan cultural exchange and experience tours, guiding participants to famous landmarks, such as the Shanghai Planetarium, the China Maritime Museum, the Fengxian Museum, Yuyuan Garden, and more.
