Shanghai's New International Expo Center transformed into a bustling hub for pet enthusiasts as the 26th Pet Fair Asia kicked off on Aug 21.

This year's exhibition, sprawling across an impressive 300,000 square meters, features 2,500 domestic and international exhibitors, offering a diverse range of resources tailored to cater to pet owners' needs.

With a focus on providing comprehensive aid and guidance to pet owners, the fair revolves around primary living scenarios designed to enhance the well-being of pets and their caregivers. The event involves a blend of business-to-business and business-to-consumer elements, including professional summits, trade platforms, and consumer interactions across four key scenarios: clothes, eatery, accommodation, and transportation for pets.

Recognizing the growing demand for improved pet care, the fair has organized pet fashion shows displaying eco-friendly pet clothing and trendy human-pet paired outfits. Moreover, pet food companies have unveiled optimized formulas developed in collaboration with laboratories, emphasizing the use of high-quality ingredients like pure meat in pet food products.

In a bid to create pet-friendly environments, innovative offerings like those from Blossom House, a pet-friendly hotel chain brand, have made their debuts at the fair, attracting the attention of pet owners and leading to a surge in bookings. Addressing the challenge of pets traveling on public transportation, Didi, one of the online ride-hailing service apps in China, introduced a new service allowing passengers to travel with their pets. This service, currently in a trial phase in Shanghai, Beijing, and Hangzhou, simplifies the process by requiring passengers to indicate that they are accompanied by a pet when placing their orders.

For attendees planning to visit the fair, pre-registration is recommended through the provided link, with a reminder that pets are not allowed in the exhibition area. To explore pet food options, designated areas such as N1, N2, N4, N5, W4, W5, E6 (mainly domestic products), and E7 (mainly imported products) are recommended. Those interested in pet clothing can head to W2 and W3, while cat owners are encouraged to visit E3 and E4. Additionally, pet supermarkets can be found at E1, E2, and W1, offering a wide array of pet care products and essentials.
