Excitement is building as Shanghai makes final preparations to welcome a triumph of anime music culture.

That's after the organizers of the popular Japanese anime music festival Anisama World 2024 announced its return to the city after a 13-year hiatus at a recent news conference.

The event, which features a celebration of anime music, has been part of Japan's annual music festival, Animelo Summer Live.

This has grown to become a staple annual extravaganza held there during the summer months ever since its inception in 2005.

Scheduled for Nov 16 as part of the 23rd China Shanghai International Arts Festival, the Anisama World 2024 will see 12 groups of celebrity guests take to the stage at the Juss Sports Qizhong Tennis Center.

This musical spectacle will feature a lineup of performances that includes anime songs, gaming melodies, tokusatsu tunes and original compositions by individual singers.
