The China Pharmaceutical Industry Development Conference 2024, alongside the International Biopharma Industry Week Shanghai, took place in Zhangjiang, Pudong New Area from Nov 16 to 18.

With the theme "To innovate, share, and win together to usher in a better future", the industry week and conference featured an opening ceremony, a main forum, 16 specialized activities, a showcase of global cooperation cases in the pharmaceutical industry, and numerous thematic activities.

Through outcome releases, policy interpretations, and roundtable forums, the events centered on cutting-edge technological innovations in China's pharmaceutical industry and global pharmaceutical cooperation.

A report was also given on progress made in the industrial upgrading of the pharmaceutical sector and the future development in industrial technology during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).

According to the report, China has made significant advances in the industrialization technology of biopharmaceuticals, intelligent manufacturing, and the green development of the pharmaceutical raw materials industry.

A key highlight was the signing ceremony for the National Outstanding Engineer Practice Base in digital technology, focusing on training digital engineers for the pharmaceutical industry. Representatives from domestic and international pharmaceutical companies also launched a global cooperation initiative for industry development.

In addition, a panoramic map of the biomedical industry's digital transformation in 2024 was unveiled at a biomedical digitalization forum.
