Shanghai is gearing up to host the world's top dancers as final preparations take place for the 2024 World Dance Sport Federation Grand Slam Final and the 10th China Dancesport Elite Competition — to be held at the Shanghai Luwan Gymnasium from Dec 14 to 15.

As a world-class dance sports competition, the annual WDSF Grand Slam Final is expected to electrify those viewing the talents of the top 12 pairs in both the Latin and Standard categories, selected based on their credit points.

The event, a mainstay of the Huangpu district for 21 years, promises a consummate display of skills and artistry in the world of competitive dance.

In conjunction with the Grand Slam Final, the 10th China Dancesport Elite Competition will provide a platform for 400 pairs of dancers to present their finest moves — including teenage participants for the first time.

To attract a wider audience, the organizing committee has planned engaging events such as a welcome gala at the Peace Hotel, a street show at the Shanghai New World Daimaru shopping hall and flash campus courses to spark interest and excitement.

The competitions are being organized by the World Dance Sport Federation, the Asian Dance Sport Federation, China Dance Sport Federation and the Shanghai Sports Federation.

Arrangements are being overseen by the Shanghai Dance Sport Association, the Shanghai Huangpu District Sports Federation and the Shanghai Luwan Gymnasium.
