Shanghai will serve as one of the six stops in the After Dark Tour 2025, a women's night running series which is set to take place in the city on April 27. Registration will open in April, according to the event organizer.

The global series, which is set to kick off in Sydney on April 12 and conclude in Mexico City on June 21, features either a 10-kilometer or half-marathon race, with the Shanghai event offering the former. Other cities included in the tour are Seoul, Mumbai, and Los Angeles.

The event aims to empower female runners by fostering a sense of community, self-expression, and confidence.

Throughout the event, participants will enjoy a variety of activities, including guidance from professional coaches, race day preparation services, recovery areas, and post-race celebrations.

Zhang Deshun, the current national women's 10-kilometer road race record holder, expressed her enthusiasm. "I've participated in various domestic and international races as a marathon runner, but I am particularly excited about the unique atmosphere of the After Dark Tour night race and its focus on women's competition."
